Surrounded thick forests of conifers and fruit orchards, Mukteshwar is yet another place of the Garhwali Himalayas which boasts of its Scenic beauty. Mukteshwar is nicely seated at an altitude of almost 2290 meters above sea level in the Kumaon division of Uttarakhand. It is situated around 50 kilometres from Nainital, the administrative headquarter of the district, 70 kilometres from Haldwani, the largest city in Nainital, and almost 340 kilometres from the country capital of Delhi.

• Mukteshwar Temple
  Mukteshwar temple is undoubtedly the most important location in Mukteshwar because the town derives its name from this four-centuries old temple. Dedicated to Lord Shiva, this temple is located at an altitude of 2300 meters above sea level and offers a stunning view of the enchanting Himalayas. Although it is ancient, the Mukteshwar temple has a simple architecture with stone steps leading to the actual temple premises.
  Mukteshwar temple and its surrounding area are known as ‘Mini Haridwar because people can immerse ash in the Ravi river that flows this dham.
• Dhanachuli
  This tiny hamlet which is located at an altitude of around 7000 feet from sea level, is situated in very close proximity to Mukteshwar. Dhanachuli is blessed with a serene environment with scenic beauty which makes it perfect to relax and unwind from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
• Chauli ki Jali
  Chauli ki Jali is yet another well-known attraction in Mukteshwar. It gets its name from ‘Chaul’ and ‘Jali’, which means rock and hole respectively.

Best Time For Visiting Mukteshwar
The weather in Mukteshwar is pleasant all around the year, which is the best part about exploring it. Even summers are bearable and the maximum temperature goes up to about 27°C since it is a hill station. So, you can come here anytime between March and June.
But if experiencing snow and a sparsely white landscape is in your mind, then you must plan your visit during December and January, October to February are winter months when the temperatures stay between 3 to 16 degrees.
The monsoon season is from July to September and if you are okay with a little downpour, it will be a good time to explore all the greenery.
All in all, a weekend is enough for a quick getaway. But if you want to stay a little longer, a whole week is good for exploring everything.
